Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal issues first government order from ED custody
New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is in judicial custody for six days in connection with a money laundering case related to the Delhi Excise Policy, has issued his first government order from the custody of the federal agency, directing Water Minister Atishi to address issues related to water and sewerage in certain areas of Delhi.
During a press conference, Atishi said that the instructions received on Saturday night brought tears to her eyes, as they highlighted Kejriwal’s ongoing concern for the people despite his current situation.
Chief Minister Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) from his official residence on Thursday in relation to the aforementioned case.
Subsequently, a special PMLA court remanded Kejriwal to the custody of the central agency until March 28. Following Kejriwal’s arrest, the AAP announced that the chief minister would continue to govern from jail. It is noteworthy that Kejriwal is the first sitting chief minister to be arrested.
