Delhi court defers verdict in Sajjan Kumar murder case to January 31

New Delhi: A Delhi court on Monday postponed its verdict in a murder case against former Congress MP Sajjan Kumar related to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

Special Judge Kaveri Baweja, who was set to announce the verdict, adjourned the matter to January 31 after the prosecution requested additional time to argue certain points.

The case involves the alleged killing of Jaswant Singh and his son Tarundeep Singh in Saraswati Vihar during the riots. Initially investigated by the Punjabi Bagh police, the case was later transferred to the Special Investigation Team (SIT).

The court had earlier reserved its verdict after hearing final arguments from both sides.
