Delhi High Court reserves order on Arvind Kejriwal’s bail

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Wednesday reserved decision on Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s bail plea in the excise scam case after hearing arguments from both sides. The court has said that it will take 5-7 days to write the verdict. During the hearing, Kejriwal’s lawyer said that in the past, the Supreme Court has also granted interim bail in the ED case.

He would have been out today had the CBI not made an insurance arrest. Special Public Prosecutor D.P. Singh, appearing for the CBI, said in his argument that being an investigating agency, we have our rights.

“We have our rights to charge sheet which accused and which accused to be summoned at what time. Special arrangements were made for hearing the petition even on the day of Muharram holiday.”
