Delhi Police Bust Fake Visa Racket, Seven Arrested in Tilak Nagar

New Delhi: In a major crackdown on fake visa operations, Delhi Police arrested seven individuals in the Tilak Nagar area of West Delhi. The gang, led by a man named Manoj Monga, was involved in the production and distribution of counterfeit visas for multiple countries.

Authorities uncovered a “fake visa factory” at Monga’s residence, where a large quantity of equipment used in the creation of counterfeit visas was seized. In addition, 14 Nepali passports and two Indian passports were recovered. The arrested individuals have been identified as Manoj Monga (51), Shiva Gautam (42), Naveen Rana (25), Balbir Singh (65), Jaswinder Singh (55), Asif Ali (27), and a passenger named Sandeep.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Indira Gandhi International Airport) Usha Rangnani reported that the operation began on the night of September 2 when Sandeep, a Haryana resident, was detained at the departure immigration counter of Indira Gandhi International Airport. Sandeep was found carrying an Indian passport with a forged Swedish visa while attempting to board a flight to Rome, Italy.

Following Sandeep’s arrest, an FIR was registered, and the investigation led to the identification of a travel agent named Asif Ali. According to police, Sandeep had paid Ali Rs 7.5 lakh in total to facilitate his illegal travel to Europe. Ali, in collaboration with his associates Naveen Rana and Shiva Gautam, arranged tickets and the counterfeit Swedish visa for Sandeep. Subsequently, Ali, Rana, and Gautam were apprehended, leading to the arrests of Balbir Singh and Jaswinder Singh.

During interrogation, Jaswinder Singh disclosed information about Manoj Monga, who specialized in creating fake visa stickers. Monga was subsequently arrested at his residence in Tilak Nagar, where he operated a full-scale illegal visa production operation. Further investigation revealed that Monga had established the factory with a partner named Jaideep Singh five years ago, and later began issuing counterfeit appointment letters to clients to legitimize the fake visas.

Police recovered a significant haul of counterfeit items from Monga’s residence, including 30 fake sticker visas, 23 rubber stamps from various countries, three fake Italian Permanent Residence (PR) cards, wooden stamps from different embassies, and four metal cards from various countries. Additionally, 14 original Nepali passports and two genuine Indian passports were confiscated.
