Delhi waterlogged after overnight rains, AAP attacks BJP

New Delhi: Several parts of Delhi were inundated following heavy rainfall that lashed the city and surrounding NCR areas on Sunday night, plunging the region into darkness and sparking concerns over preparedness.
A video showing severe waterlogging outside the Public Works Department (PWD) office at Lok Nirman Bhawan in ITO went viral on social media, prompting criticism from opposition leaders.
Former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi lashed out at PWD Minister Parvesh Verma, asking, “This water has accumulated outside the PWD office. Where is the PWD minister? Where is Parvesh Verma?”
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and PWD Minister Sahib Singh Verma had recently claimed that the government had already initiated measures to tackle waterlogging.
However, the overnight rain appears to have undermined those assertions, as several roads in the capital remained submerged, causing major traffic disruptions and safety hazards, she said.
