Dr Manmohan Singh’s final journey begins; last rites at Nigambodh Ghat
New Delhi: The mortal remains of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh were brought to the Congress headquarters in a flower-adorned vehicle on Saturday, where party leaders and workers gathered to pay their tributes to the statesman.
Singh’s final journey will proceed from the Congress headquarters, with his last rites scheduled to take place at Nigambodh Ghat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend the ceremony.
Manmohan Singh, who served as Prime Minister during the Congress-led UPA government, is celebrated as the architect of India’s economic reforms.
His leadership ushered in significant changes to the nation’s economic framework, leaving an enduring legacy.
