Eight accused in Baba Siddiqui murder case sent to police custody until December 7

Mumbai: Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, has been identified as the main conspirator in the murder of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddiqui, Mumbai Police informed a special court today.

The court, presided over by Special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) Judge A M Patil, remanded eight accused, including alleged main shooter Shivakumar Gautam, to police custody until December 7.

The police argued that further investigation was necessary to determine the financial sources and utilization linked to the crime.

Anmol Bishnoi, who was recently detained in the United States, has been declared a wanted accused in the case. According to the police, Bishnoi provided financial support to other accused involved in the conspiracy.

The Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested 26 individuals in connection with Siddiqui’s murder, including Gautam. Initially, all accused were sent to judicial custody by a magistrate’s court.

However, on November 30, the police invoked MCOCA against all 26 suspects, leading to the remand order issued today.
