Encounter between police and Maoists on Dantewada-Bijapur border, 9 Maoists killed

New Delhi: An encounter broke out between Maoists and police in the forests of Lohagaon Pediya on the Dantewada-Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. 9 Maoists were killed in this encounter.

According to information received from the police, the soldiers had an encounter with PLGA Company No. 2 of the Naxalites. The soldiers have so far killed 9 Naxalites in the encounter. SLR, 303 and 12 bore weapons were also recovered from the spot along with the bodies of the Naxalites. This has been confirmed by Bijapur SP Jitendra Yadav.
