Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is on a visit to Jammu today. The defence minister’s visit comes days after four soldiers were killed in an ambush by militants on army vehicles in Poonch.
The defence minister’s visit comes at a time when a Brigadier-level officer is facing a probe into repeated lapses in Army operations that led to the martyrdom of several soldiers.
Rajnath Singh is expected to meet local residents in Rajouri and families of civilians of the deceased.
The defence minister, who arrived in Jammu, said every soldier was like a family member for him.
