Farmers march to Delhi today, take Pokalen machines at Shambhu border
New Delhi: Farmers from Punjab will march to Delhi at 11 am on Wednesday. The main convoy of farmers will leave from the Shambhu border of Punjab-Haryana.
Apart from this, farmers will also enter Haryana from the Khanauri border. From here, they will proceed towards Delhi in tractor-trolleys. To deter the farmers, the Haryana Police have barricaded the bridge over the Ghaggar river on the Shambhu border with cement girders and barbed wire.
To break it, farmers have also brought JCB, hydraulic crane, and bulletproof Poclane machines. According to the strategy of farmer leaders, tractors will be lined up at 6 am. Approximately 1200 tractors are stationed at the Shambhu border and 800 tractors at the Khanauri border. Their numbers may increase. Today marks the 9th day of the movement. So far, four people have died due to various reasons during the eight-day farmers’ protest. Among the deceased are two farmers and two police sub-inspectors.
