Farmers’ protest enters fifth day, tractor march in Haryana today

New Delhi: Today is the fifth day of the farmers’ protest. Farmers from Punjab are standing at the Shambhu border with their insistence on going to Delhi. Two people, including a farmer and a sub-inspector, have died in this agitation.

Punjab’s big farmer organization BKU (Ugrahan) has also come into the movement. From tomorrow, they will make all tolls in Punjab free for 2 days. Apart from this, Punjab BJP leaders will gherao the house of former CM Captain Amarinder Singh, state head Sunil Jakhar and Kewal Dhillon.

In Haryana, the tractor march will be taken out in BKU (Chaduni) tehsils.

Chandigarh: Union ministers and farmer leaders will hold the fourth round of talks in Chandigarh on Sunday to end the farmers’ agitation.

On the fourth day of the protest, when the farmers tried to move towards the barricading, the Haryana Police fired tear gas shells at them. Several farmers sustained injuries in the shells.

The farmers’ Bharat Bandh received full support in Punjab and Haryana. Government buses also did not run. Toll plazas were made free for 3 hours in Haryana.

At the same time, Haryana Police has registered an FIR against farmer leader Abhimanyu Kohar and his 5 associates. They have been accused of attacking the police on the Khanauri border of Punjab-Haryana.
