Farmers’ protest: Tension continues as protest enters seventh day at borders
Chandigarh: Although the atmosphere at the Shambhu and Khanauri borders has remained peaceful for the seventh consecutive day, the enthusiasm among the farmers to march to Delhi persists.
The farmers, particularly the youth, are actively monitoring the activities of the Haryana Police and central security forces at the Punjab-Haryana border. The recent martyrdom of farmer Manjit Singh, a resident of Kangthala, at the Khanauri border has further invigorated the farmers’ resolve.
They express their commitment to abide by any decision made by the state committee. Today, there was significant activity at the Khanauri border, with many farmers securing their rain shelters against the strong winds by tightly fastening tarpaulin sheets to their trolleys.
Additionally, a foreign couple visited the Khanauri border to observe the farmers’ struggle. Farmers from Haryana have also gathered at the Khanauri border in solidarity with their counterparts from Punjab, engaging in discussions about the current situation and enjoying hookah sessions.
