FIR lodged in Lawrence Bishnoi interview case

Jaipur: The Jaipur police have registered an FIR in connection with an interview of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi aired on a news channel in March last year.

Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph said the FIR was registered in Jaipur following directions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The Punjab Police had constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the case.

DCP Jaipur (East) Tejaswini Gautam said the SIT of Punjab Police found that Bishnoi was in Jaipur jail at the time of the interview.

Jaipur Central Jail falls under the jurisdiction of Lalkothi police station and a case for the same was registered here itself.

Gandhi Nagar Assistant Commissioner of Police Narayan Kumar Baria said the case was registered on Friday. The official said the matter will be investigated and further action will be taken based on the facts revealed.
