Four workers die after inhaling poisonous gas in Gujarat’s Bharuch

Bharuch: Four workers lost their lives after inhaling poisonous gas from a chemical plot at Dahej in Gujarat’s Bharuch district, police confirmed on Sunday.

The tragic incident occurred at a unit of Gujarat Fluorochemicals Limited (GFL) around 8 pm on Saturday, when a gas leak from a pipe caused the employees to fall unconscious.

Despite being rushed to a private hospital, the workers could not be saved, said Dahej police inspector B.S. Patidar.

The deceased were identified as Rajesh Kumar Magandiya (48) from Bharuch, Mudrika Yadav (29) from Jharkhand’s Adhaura, and Suchit Prasad (39) and Mahesh Nandlal (25), both from Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh.

The company stated that the leak was promptly contained and announced a compensation of Rs 30 lakh for each victim’s family. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, and an investigation is underway.
