Gehlot accuses Centre government of insensitivity towards fasting farmer leader Dallewal
Jaipur: Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has criticized the central governments for their “insensitivity” towards farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who has been on an indefinite hunger strike for 51 days.
Highlighting Dallewal’s deteriorating health, Gehlot pointed out that 111 additional farmers have also joined the hunger strike to press their demands.
He questioned the government’s unwillingness to engage with the farmers, recalling how grievances were addressed only after nearly 700 farmers lost their lives protesting the now-repealed farm laws.
“It is incomprehensible why such situations keep recurring and why the government avoids resolving issues through dialogue with farmer delegations,” Gehlot said.
