Government issues advisory to airlines to not hike fares amid terminal 1 crisis
New Delhi: The Ministry of Civil Aviation has issued guidelines to all airlines on Friday that there should be no steep increase in air fares after the roof of terminal one collapses.
Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu convened a high-level review meeting with officials and directed them to deal with the current situation and ensure the safety and convenience of passengers.
The ministry also directed to set up 24/7 war rooms at the Delhi airport for efficient management of other terminals at the airport.
“This war room will ensure full refund of cancelled flights or provide tickets for alternative travel routes as per availability,” the ministry said.
He said that all refunds should be ensured within the stipulated time of 7 days.
One person was killed and six others were injured when the roof of terminal 1 collapsed due to which it has been temporarily closed.
