Gujarat Titans defeat Mumbai Indians by 36 runs in IPL match

New Delhi: Gujarat Titans defeated Mumbai Indians by 36 runs in an IPL match played here today. Batting first, Gujarat set a target of 197 runs, but Mumbai managed only 160 for six in response.

Suryakumar Yadav top-scored for Mumbai with 48 runs, while Tilak Verma contributed 39. Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj took two wickets each for Gujarat.

Earlier, Gujarat got off to a strong start with captain Shubman Gill scoring 38 and Sai Sudharsan making 63 off 41 balls. Sudharsan built partnerships of 78 runs with Gill for the first wicket and 51 runs with Jos Buttler (39) for the second wicket. However, apart from the top three, only S Rutherford (18) managed to reach double figures.

For Mumbai, captain Hardik Pandya was the most successful bowler, taking two wickets for 29 runs. Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, and Satyanarayana Raju claimed one wicket each.
