Gurugram man held for killing Munshi in liquor-fueled dispute

Gurugram: The Gurugram police have arrested a man for allegedly killing a Munshi by slitting his throat with a sharp-edged weapon near Khandsa Mandi. The case, initially a blind murder, was solved within 15 hours by joint efforts of Crime Branch Palam Vihar and City Police Station.
The accused has been identified as Dharmendra, 34, a delivery boy and resident of Subhash Nagar. Police said the victim, Satish alias Khanga, also lived in the same colony and worked at Khandsa Mandi. He originally hailed from Kinana village in Sonipat.
During interrogation, Dharmendra confessed that the incident occurred while he and Satish were consuming alcohol near a liquor shop close to Prem Mandir on Old Railway Road.
A verbal spat broke out between the two, escalating into a physical altercation. In a fit of rage, Dharmendra allegedly attacked Satish with an axe, fatally injuring him on the neck.
Police said the two were sitting separately when the argument began. Further investigation into the case is currently underway.
