Gwalior blast: Content creator couple critically injured while filming with cooking gas
New Delhi: A blast at the Legacy Plaza building in Gola Ka Mandir area of Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, left a content creator couple seriously injured on Wednesday. The victims, identified as Rachna Jat and Anil Jat, were reportedly filming a social media reel using highly flammable cooking gas when the explosion occurred.
According to the police investigation, the couple attempted to create a special effect by releasing liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) into a sealed room. The situation turned dangerous when they switched on a halogen lamp, igniting the gas and triggering a loud explosion.
Both victims, around 35 years old, suffered severe burns and were rushed to a hospital, where their condition remains critical. Rachna Jat is reported to own two flats in the damaged building.
The blast caused significant structural damage, breaking window panes and creating cracks in the building’s walls. The intensity of the explosion led to panic in the area. A bomb disposal squad and forensic experts were called to assess the site and collect evidence.
Police officials confirmed that legal action will be taken against the couple under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (BNS) for endangering lives. Authorities are also considering additional charges for the extensive damage caused to the building and its surroundings.
