Hanuman Jayanti: States must ensure law and order: Centre

New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry today asked all states to ensure maintenance of law and order on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti in view of the Ram Navami violence in West Bengal and Bihar.

At the same time, the Centre has announced that central armed forces have been deployed in the state to assist the West Bengal Police during Hanuman Jayanti. Hanuman Jayanti is being celebrated today.
“Central Armed Forces have been deployed in West Bengal to maintain law and order during Hanuman Jayanti,” a Home Ministry spokesperson said in a tweet this afternoon.
Earlier, in the wake of last week’s communal violence, the Union Ministry had issued an advisory to states and Union Territories to keep vigil and act prudently.
