Home Minister Amit Shah arrives in Srinagar after Pahalgam terror attack
Srinagar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Srinagar on Monday night to assess the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives. Shah flew to Srinagar just hours after the attack and headed straight from the airport to Raj Bhavan.
Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat briefed the home minister on the attack and the current security scenario.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, and Director of Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka were also present during the meeting.
Officials said Shah is likely to visit Pahalgam on Wednesday to review the ground situation.
