“I started T20 cricket and invented the snake catcher,” claims Ram Rahim

Sirsa: Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has claimed that he pioneered T20 cricket in 1990, long before it gained global popularity.

Speaking in an online satsang with his followers, he said, “We ran T20 in 1990 at Jalalana Sahab’s stadium. Back then, big players mocked it, saying, ‘Is this even cricket?’ Today, the whole world has embraced it.”

Ram Rahim also claimed to have invented a device for catching snakes, stating that it has now spread across the country.

He said that during the construction of Shah Mastana Ji Dham in Sirsa, cobras frequently appeared, prompting his followers to catch and relocate them. In 1994, he devised a snake-catching tool to ensure children’s safety. “I was advised to patent it, but I didn’t because I had no interest in business,” he added.

Currently serving a life sentence in Rohtak’s Sunaria jail for rape and murder, Ram Rahim is on a 30-day parole and conducting daily online satsangs from Dera Sacha Sauda in Sirsa.

He admitted that his stamina has declined over time, saying, “Earlier, I used to speak for four hours. Now, I take shortcuts.”
