IMD warns of severe heat wave conditions in northwest India, including Punjab for next five days
New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave warning in northwest India over the next five days and said the maximum impact is likely to be in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi.
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Delhi, asking children, the elderly and vulnerable people, including them, not to step out of their homes.
“Some parts of west Rajasthan will experience severe heat wave conditions during May 17-20 and in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi during May 18-20. In the national capital, the mercury is likely to touch 45 degrees Celsius by Saturday.”
