India bans anti-cold drug combination for kids aged under four
In the wake of the deaths of at least 141 children worldwide due to cough syrup, the drug regulator in India has banned the use of drug-combination given to cold in children below four years of age, and ordered that medicines must be properly labeled.
According to a Reuters report, the regulator says that the discussions were held after concerns arose about the unapproved anti-cold drug formulation in infants and infants, and consequently recommended not to use the drug-combination for the said age group
