India clinch 2-wicket victory over England to take 2-0 series lead

New Delhi: In a nail-biting encounter at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, India secured a 2-wicket win over England, taking a commanding 2-0 lead in the series.

The victory came on the back of Tilak Verma’s unbeaten 72-run knock, which anchored the innings despite India’s batting struggles.

Chasing 166, India found themselves in trouble before Verma steadied the innings. He was supported by Ravi Bishnoi in a crucial 20-run ninth-wicket partnership that guided the team to victory.

Brandon Carse was the standout bowler for England, claiming three wickets. Earlier, after winning the toss and opting to bowl, India restricted England to 165/9 in 20 overs.

Jos Buttler top-scored for the visitors with 45 runs, while Brandon Carse contributed 31. For India, Varun Chakravarthy and Axar Patel took two wickets each, with Arshdeep Singh, Hardik Pandya, and Abhishek Sharma chipping in with one wicket apiece.
