India launches ‘Operation Sindoor’, strikes nine sites in Pakistan

New Delhi: India has launched a targeted military operation against terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir following a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

The Indian Army carried out precise strikes on nine identified hideouts in Muzaffarabad under the operation named ‘Operation Sindoor’.

In a statement, the Indian Armed Forces said the strikes were launched on terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, which were being used to plan attacks against India.

“Our actions have been focused, measured, and non-radical in nature. No Pakistani military facilities were targeted. India exercised great restraint in the selection of bases and the manner in which they were destroyed,” the statement added.

The strikes are being seen as a calibrated response aimed at deterring cross-border terrorism while avoiding military escalation.
