India seal series with 15-run win over England in fourth T20I

New Delhi: India secured an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match T20I series after defeating England by 15 runs in the fourth match. Hardik Pandya (53) and Shivam Dube (52) played key roles with the bat, while Harshit Rana and Ravi Bishnoi claimed three wickets each to seal the victory.

Batting first, India posted 181/9 after being put in by England. The hosts were in trouble at 12/3 before Pandya and Dube steadied the innings with an 87-run partnership.

Rinku Singh (30) and Abhishek Sharma (29) provided late contributions. England’s Shakib Mahmood was the most successful bowler, taking 3/35.

Chasing 182, England started strongly with Philip Salt (23) and Ben Duckett (39) adding 62 runs. However, Bishnoi’s dismissal of Duckett in the sixth over triggered a collapse.

Captain Jos Buttler managed only two runs before falling in the eighth over. Late efforts from Jamie Overton (19) and Adil Rashid (10) were not enough as England were bowled out for 161 in 19.4 overs.

Alongside Rana and Bishnoi’s three-wicket hauls, Varun Chakravarthy took 2/28, while Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel claimed one wicket each.
