India storms into Women’s Hockey Junior Asia Cup semi-finals

New Delhi: India secured a dominant 9-0 victory against Thailand to reach the semi-finals of the Women’s Hockey Junior Asia Cup. The win, highlighted by Deepika’s four goals, also ensured India’s qualification for the Junior World Cup.

The game began with a cautious approach, as Indian players initially struggled against Thailand’s defensive setup. However, Rana Sakshi opened the scoring in the 17th minute, setting the tone for India’s commanding performance.

The team maintained its momentum, scoring back-to-back goals to seal the win.

India has been in stellar form throughout the tournament, previously defeating Bangladesh 13-1 and Malaysia 5-0 in their earlier matches in the five-team competition.
