India will give befitting reply to Pahalgam attack, says Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on Tuesday that those responsible for the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir would be given a befitting reply, adding that India cannot be intimidated by such acts of terror.

Singh said he had spoken to the chiefs of the three services and other officials to assess the situation on the ground and directed the Army to remain on standby.

“From this platform, I want to assure the countrymen that the Government of India will take every necessary and appropriate step. We will not only find the perpetrators of the terror attack but also reach those behind the scenes who hatched this nefarious plot to target Indian soil,” he said.
