India wins Champions Trophy, defeats New Zealand by 4 wickets in final

Dubai: India clinched the Champions Trophy by defeating New Zealand by four wickets in the final at Dubai International Stadium. Chasing a target of 252, India secured victory in 49 overs.

This marks Rohit Sharma’s second ICC title as captain in nine months, having previously led India to the T20 World Cup win on June 29 last year.

Sharma played a key role in the run chase, scoring 76 runs. Shreyas Iyer (48), KL Rahul (34*), and Axar Patel (29) also contributed significantly.

In bowling, Kuldeep Yadav turned the game in India’s favor by taking two consecutive wickets, dismissing Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson. Daryl Mitchell was New Zealand’s top scorer with 63 runs.
