India wins second consecutive Olympic medal after 50 years, beats Spain in bronze medal match

Paris: The Indian hockey team has made history. Team India, captained by Harmanpreet Singh, has won the bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Team India defeated Spain 2-1, with Harmanpreet Singh scoring both goals for India. This match was particularly special for Team India’s legendary goalkeeper, P. Sreejesh, as it was the last match of his career. This victory marks India’s fourth medal at the Paris Olympics; earlier, they had won three medals in shooting.

In the first quarter, both teams competed fiercely, but neither scored a goal. Spain took the lead in the second quarter, with Mark Miralles scoring in the 18th minute.
