IPL 2025 to begin on March 22 in Kolkata, check full schedule
Kolkata: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is set to kick off on March 22 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, with defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) facing Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opening match.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officially announced the schedule for the 18th season on Sunday. The final match will be played on May 25 at the Voisie Ground.
A total of 74 matches will be contested by 10 teams across 13 cities. One of the most anticipated clashes will be between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians on March 23 in Chennai, with a rematch scheduled for April 20.
Punjab Kings will play four of their home games in Mullanpur and three in Dharamsala.

KKR to defend title
Kolkata Knight Riders will defend their title after clinching their third IPL championship in 2024 by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Under the mentorship of Gautam Gambhir and the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, KKR secured their second trophy since 2014 and third overall.
