Jammu and Kashmir: Two groups open fire in Samba, three including a Punjabi injured
Punjab E News: Three persons, including a resident of Punjab, were injured in a firing incident following a clash between two groups in Ramgarh area of Samba district near the Indo-Pak border in the wee hours today, police said.
Two residents of Punjab have been arrested in connection with the firing incident near Rangur bus stand in Ramgarh at around 4 am, the officials said. SSP Benam Tosh inspected the spot.
Officials said the case is being probed from various angles including drug smuggling. Three men from Punjab, who were travelling in a vehicle bearing a Chandigarh number, reached Rangur and allegedly opened fire on some locals, the officials said, citing preliminary investigations. He said that the reason for the incident could also be an old dispute.
According to officials, sunil Kumar (25), a local resident, was shot dead. Kumar (23) and Sunny Kumar, a resident of Amritsar, were injured and have been admitted to the Government Medical College Hospital. Satinderpal Singh and Jagpreet Singh, both residents of Tarn Taran, have been taken into custody in connection with the incident, he said.
