Kejriwal seeks LG’s resignation over broad daylight loot at Pragati Maidan
New Delhi: New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today hit out at Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena and demanded his resignation in the wake of the day-to-day looting incident in the national capital. Sharing a video of the alleged incident on Twitter, Kejriwal reiterated his demand that the responsibility of law and order in Delhi should be handed over to the local governments.
“The Lt Governor should resign. Such a person should be made the Lieutenant Governor, who can give security to the people of Delhi. In the video, some armed men are seen stopping the car inside the underpass in Pragati Maidan area in the heart of the city and robbing the people sitting in it at gunpoint.”
According to police, four unidentified persons allegedly looted Rs 2 lakh from the delivery agent and his accomplice inside the Pragati Maidan underpass on Saturday. He was then going to Gurugram by cab with the amount.
