Kesari Chapter 2 cast visits Jallianwala Bagh, pays obeisance at Golden Temple
Amritsar: The star cast of Kesari Chapter 2, a Bollywood film based on the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre, visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar on Monday morning. Actors Akshay Kumar,
Ananya Panday and R Madhavan were seen at the shrine ahead of their visit to Jallianwala Bagh later in the evening to pay tribute to the martyrs.
Akshay Kumar was dressed in a traditional kurta-salwar, while R Madhavan wore a white kurta-pajama. Actress Ananya Panday appeared in a vibrant ethnic suit, with her head covered by a scarf as a mark of respect at the holy site.
Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari Chapter 2 is being produced by Dharma Productions and is set to be a courtroom drama. The film is based on the life of lawyer C. Sankaran Nair and his legal fight for justice following the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
Unlike the 2019 film Kesari, which depicted the Battle of Saragarhi fought between 21 Sikh soldiers and Afghan tribesmen, Kesari Chapter 2 shifts focus to the courtroom and highlights the political and legal aftermath of one of colonial India’s darkest episodes.
