Key accused in VHP leader’s murder arrested by NIA in joint operation

Ludhiana: The key suspect in the supply of illegal weapons used in the killing of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Vikas Prabhakar, also known as Vikas Bagga, has been arrested in Ludhiana.

The arrest was made during a joint operation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Delhi Police Special Cell.

The accused, identified as Dharmendra Kumar alias Kunal, was apprehended following a raid in Ludhiana. The case, which was handed over to the NIA on May 9, 2024, pertains to the murder of Vikas Bagga on April 13, 2024. The NIA registered the case under RC-06/2024 NIA DLI.

Dharmendra Kumar has been detained under various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and the Arms Act. Further investigations are underway.
