‘Killing of singer Sidhu Moosewala in Punjab part of undeclared emergency’: MP Channi in Parliament
New Delhi: Congress leader Charanjit Singh Channi today said attacked the Union government in the Parliament and said that killing of popular young singer Sidhu Moosewala in Punjab is part of an “undeclared emergency” by the Centre.
He further said that the detention of an elected MP under the NSA is also part of an “undeclared emergency”, drawing a sharp reaction from the BJP, which said it was referring to jailed radical Sikh preacher Amritpal Singh.
“It is also an emergency that an MP elected by 20 lakh people in Punjab has been detained under the NSA (National Security Act),” the former Punjab chief minister said, referring to the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. … He is unable to speak about his constituency here (in Parliament), it is also an emergency.”
