Kolkata incident: SC oders to take immediate steps for the safety of doctors
New Delhi: The Supreme Court said in a strong tone that delay by the Kolkata Police in registering a case of unnatural death in connection with the alleged rape and murder of a woman doctor at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital is deeply disturbing.
The apex court also asked the protesting doctors to return to work. The apex court, while taking suo motu cognisance of the death of a Kolkata-based doctor, said justice and medicines cannot be stopped. The court directed the Centre and the states to take immediate steps for the safety and security of doctors across the country.
