Lakhimpur Kheri incident: Supreme Court grants bail to Ashish Mishra

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday granted bail to Ashish Mishra, son of former Union minister Ajay Mishra, in a case related to the 2021 Lakhimpur Kheri violence. Eight people were killed in the incident.

On January 25 last year, the apex court had granted interim bail to Ashish Mishra in the unfortunate incident that took place during the violence. A bench of Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan also granted bail to the farmers in the case and directed the trial court to expedite the hearing.
