Lok Sabha Speaker election: Meeting to be held at Rajnath Singh’s residence
New Delhi: A meeting on Lok Sabha Speaker election issue to be held at Rajnath’s residence amid the ongoing tussle on the topic. The main issues of the meeting, scheduled ahead of the first Lok Sabha session of the Modi government, will be better coordination between NDA partners during the session and the election of the Speaker.
Rajnath Singh has also been given the responsibility of forging consensus for the speaker’s post with the opposition parties, including the partner parties.
If the India alliance is not given the post of Deputy Speaker, then they can field their candidate during the Speaker election on June 26.
The JD(U) and the TDP are part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) which will support the BJP’s nominee for the speaker’s post.
