Maharashtra poll trends show NDA’s dominance, BJP prepares for grand victory celebration

Mumbai: The political picture in Maharashtra is becoming increasingly clear as election trends unfold. The Mahayuti alliance, part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), is heading for a sweeping victory. As of 2:50 pm, the NDA is leading in 228 seats, while the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) trails with leads in just 54 seats.

In Uttar Pradesh, the BJP continues its dominance, leading in seven of the nine seats, while the Samajwadi Party has secured two. Meanwhile, in Jharkhand, Chief Minister Hemant Soren appears poised for a strong performance, with the INDIA alliance leading in 55 seats compared to the NDA’s 25.

In Kerala’s Wayanad constituency, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is expected to secure a significant win, with only a formal declaration awaited.

Preparations for victory celebrations are underway at the BJP headquarters in anticipation of the NDA’s performance in Maharashtra. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address party workers at 6:30 pm.

Earlier, Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated key Mahayuti leaders, including Devendra Fadnavis, Eknath Shinde, and Ajit Pawar, on their strong showing.

Devendra Fadnavis expressed gratitude on social media, posting, “If there is Modi, it is possible.” Speculation about Fadnavis returning as Maharashtra’s Chief Minister has intensified, but Eknath Shinde remarked, “Our senior leader is PM Modi; we will decide together after the final results are announced.”

The results are yet to be officially confirmed, but the trends indicate a decisive win for the NDA in Maharashtra, setting the stage for a reshaped political landscape.
