Malayalam actor Dilip Shankar found dead under mysterious circumstances

New Delhi: Malayalam actor Dilip Shankar, renowned for his roles in television serials, was discovered dead in a hotel room under puzzling circumstances.

The 50-year-old actor had been residing at a city-center hotel since December 19 for a serial shooting project, authorities confirmed.

A senior police official stated that the hotel staff last spotted Shankar outside his room two days prior to his discovery. When repeated attempts to reach him by the staff and production crew went unanswered, the police were alerted.

“The room was locked from the inside. Upon breaking open the door, we found him deceased. Preliminary findings suggest the death occurred two days ago,” the official said.

A post-mortem examination revealed that the cause of death was internal bleeding, likely caused by head injuries sustained in a fall. Officials also noted that Shankar had been suffering from liver-related health issues.

An investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding his death.
