Man arrested for selling fake tickets to Diljit Dosanjh concert through fake Zomato website
Gurugram: Police on Tuesday arrested a man for allegedly selling fake tickets to actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh’s concert by creating a fraudulent website in the name of Zomato.
The accused, identified as Nitin, a resident of Rajiv Nagar, North West Delhi, was apprehended following a complaint by food delivery company Zomato.
The complaint, filed at the Cyber Crime Police Station (South) on September 17, stated that multiple fake websites, including zomato-live.com, zomato-live.in, zomato-live.online, and luxuryflame.online/checkout-2/, were created to sell concert tickets under Zomato’s name. Fraudulent email IDs such as [email protected] were also used.
A case was registered in Gurugram, and a police team led by Inspector Naveen Kumar arrested the accused. During interrogation, Nitin admitted to running the scam.
Gurugram Police spokesperson Sandeep Kumar said the accused had confessed and would be presented before a city court to seek police custody for further investigation.
