Manipur: CRPF jawan killed in terror attack; Three policemen injured

Imphal: A CRPF jawan was killed and three others injured when militants opened fire on patrolling personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) here, police said on Sunday. Militants opened heavy fire on a patrol party from a hill in Morbung village of Jiribam district bordering Assam, a police official said in Imphal. The CRPF personnel were travelling in an SUV, the police official said.

The security personnel then retaliated but the militants hid in the forest in the mountainous region.

A search operation is now underway and additional security forces have been rushed to the area. The injured security forces personnel are currently undergoing treatment at a government hospital.
