“Many disadvantages of returning to ballot paper”: Supreme Court during hearing on EVMs
New Delhi: Amid the ongoing discussions over the use of ballot papers instead of EVMs in elections, the Supreme Court on Tuesday said that there are many disadvantages of returning to ballot papers.
In the Supreme Court, Justice Sanjiv Khanna asked Prashant Bhushan, who was speaking in favor of the petition to remove EVMs, what do you want now? Prashant Bhushan said that first go back to the ballot paper.
The second is currently 100 percent VVPAT matching. The court said that there are 98 crore voters in the country. You want 60 crore votes to be counted.
Prashant Bhushan said that the right to vote can be given through ballot or the slip in VVPAT should be given to the voters.
