Meerut man murdered by wife, lover; body hidden in concrete drum, read full details
Meerut: A man who had recently returned from London was murdered in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, by his wife and her lover, police said. The accused allegedly hid his body inside a concrete-filled drum before going on a vacation.
Meerut Superintendent of Police Ayush Vikram Singh said the victim, Saurabh Rajput, 29, had been missing since March 4.
His family lodged a complaint, prompting an investigation. Police detained Rajput’s wife, Muskan Rastogi, 28, and her lover, Sahil Shukla, on Tuesday for questioning.
“During interrogation, it was revealed that Muskan and Sahil killed Saurabh on the night of March 3. They chopped off his head and hands, placed the body in a drum, and filled it with cement and sand,” Singh said.
The police recovered the drum and used a cutter to extract the body. A case was registered based on a complaint by Saurabh’s elder brother, Rahul alias Bablu.
According to officials, after disposing of the body, Muskan and Sahil traveled to Shimla, Manali, and Kasauli.
Saurabh, a resident of Meerut’s Brahmapuri area, had a love marriage with Muskan in 2016 despite family opposition. They had a daughter in 2019.
