More than 150 injured in major accident during fireworks at Temple

New Delhi: More than 150 people were injured, eight of them seriously, in a fireworks explosion during a temple festival near Nileshwaram in Kerala late on Monday night, police said.

The seriously injured persons have suffered 80 per cent burns and have been admitted to various hospitals in the area, police officials said.

The accident reportedly occurred due to a fire in the room where the firecrackers were being fired as the place where the firecrackers were being fired was very close to the storage, he said.
