MP Amritpal moves high court to attend parliament session

New Delhi: Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh has approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court, seeking directives to the Centre, Punjab government, and others to facilitate his participation in the budget session of Parliament.

In his petition, Singh argued that his presence is essential to comply with the summons issued by the Secretary General of the Lok Sabha, and his absence violates his constitutional rights.

Amritpal Singh, who heads the ‘Waris Punjab De’ organisation, is currently held in Assam’s Dibrugarh jail under the National Security Act (NSA).

The petition claims that he is being systematically prevented from attending the session to potentially vacate the Khadoor Sahib parliamentary seat.
