Mumbai family court grants mutual divorce to Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma

Mumbai: A family court in Mumbai on Thursday granted divorce to cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his estranged wife, Dhanashree Verma, after they filed a joint petition seeking separation by mutual consent. The couple appeared before the family court in Bandra for the proceedings.

Chahal’s lawyer, Nitin Gupta, said the court approved the petition after both parties complied with the agreed terms.

Chahal and Verma, who married in December 2020, separated in June 2022. They filed for divorce on February 5.

On Wednesday, the Bombay High Court directed the family court to decide on the petition by Thursday, considering Chahal’s upcoming commitments in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
