NC-Congress government formed in Jammu and Kashmir
New Delhi: The INDIA bloc has won the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. The National Conference (NC), which is part of the alliance, got the highest number of 42 seats, followed by the Congress six and the CPI(M) one.
It is to be noted that 46 seats are needed to form the government. The BJP, on the other hand, won 29 seats. The party has gained four seats over the previous elections. The Jammu and Kashmir BJP president has accepted defeat and sent his resignation to the party high command.

Apart from this, former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s party PDP has won three seats. Earlier, in the assembly elections, they had won 28 seats.
In Jammu and Kashmir, the Aam Aadmi Party has won one seat for the first time. National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah said Omar Abdullah will be the next chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir. Omar has won two seats in Budgam and Ganderbal.
